We all understand that defending liberty requires constant vigilance in the home and local community. Yet activating an entire community to work together in defense of constitutional truth is far more difficult than it sounds. That is, unless you happen to live in Sanpete County.

For 52 years, Sanpete County was home to The Mormon Miracle Pageant, a beloved summer tradition that drew over 100,000 visitors each summer. Whatever one’s personal views of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, few could argue against the sheer inspiration of watching more than 2,300 community volunteers unite to share a story of faith and history every summer for half a century.

When the pageant concluded in 2019, many in Sanpete recognized that their community still possessed a dedicated, passionate force of volunteers eager to proclaim their faith and preserve important truths. So they did what communities of conviction do best: they got to work.

The result is The Spirit of Freedom, a brand new, fully independent pageant that tells the compelling story of the fight for religious liberty in 17th-century England, as seen through the eyes of Reverend John Lothropp.
Rev. John Lothropp (often spelled Lathrop) believed that men should be free to act – or not act – according to their own conscience. In defiance of the law that proclaimed all must join The Church of England, he continued preaching the bible in secret. He was eventually captured and imprisoned for the crime of staying true to his conscience. After years in prison, he was exiled to the Americas where he helped lay the foundation for the religious liberties we enjoy today.

The production is adapted from Exiled, a celebrated work by Helene Holt, recipient of the prestigious National Freedoms Foundation Award. Unlike its predecessor, The Spirit of Freedom will be performed entirely live, featuring an original score with powerful musical numbers. The pageant will take place at the Sanpete County Fairgrounds in Manti, Utah, just 300 yards from where the original pageant touched hearts for more than half a century.

In truth, every community in America should be stepping into this kind of action. The defense of religious liberty does not begin in Washington, D.C. It begins in grassroots efforts in places like Manti, where ordinary people take extraordinary initiative. It begins in small towns and on budget-built stages.

So here is the call: Come. Bring your congregation, your youth group, your neighbors, your family. Come and witness what a community united in faith and a love of freedom is capable of. Come and be reminded that we can still change the world – one small town at a time.

Defending Utah Editor’s comment: The public schools should be abandoned by everyone in general, it is marxist in nature and the source of many of our problems. Families should educate their own children as much as possible.  But if there’s a win we can push through in a bill to protect life, we should take that opportunity. I’d say this looks like a great short-term win in the war we’re losing on protecting life. As children are growing up not valuing life because of the public school system, it could be a strong cultural shift if children were required to see the evidence that life exists inside the womb. This is protecting our children from at least one big lie they are forced to listen to in the public schools.

This is of concern for all Utahns under the surveillance state, but especially Iron County residents that will be affected by this the most who have local standing to speak up.

Personally, while I am all for the free market and good economic opportunities, I know the good old days of tech are long behind us.  The building out of data centers in this country is now primarily serving only one major interest: Big-data government surveillance.  I’m open minded if anyone has comments that there’s a benefit here, but it will take some convincing.  We need to guard our communities and our nation from this nonsense. And as much as it feels inevitable (that’s the devil’s trick – nothing is inevitable), if it became popular for local communities to not allow data centers, then it would put a dramatic wrench in the elite’s plans.  This is local Nullification people – Local is where the power is.  Defending Utah has been teaching about this principle for nearly 15 years now – But all credit goes to the founding fathers for leaving the knowledge for us all to pick up on.

One way to nullify the rise of AI Surveillance is to not make surveillance-supporting data centers welcome in any community.  Plus, aren’t we in a drought according to Utah’s benevolent government and news media? (~Cough~ Fake drought) The government tells our churches to tell our bishops to tell us to pray for water (makes me want to barf), yet we keep building water-guzzling data centers?

Yes, you read that right. It’s not an exaggeration. It’s about to be authorized by the Utah legislature if this bill goes through. I will clearly explain.

I initially posted this last article Action: Attacking the Right to Travel – Prepping for Digital ID – Defending Utah thinking that it was preaching to the choir and just informing people of a clear and obvious threat based on sound liberty principles.

I got angry emails from triggered “righties” about how I must be a secret “lefty” because by opposing HB136 I want to allow the “illegals” to get away with unlicensed driving and pushing insurance prices sky high for everyone else.  “Those darn immigrants” – That’s how the elite deflect blame from what they are doing to us. Typical divide-and-conquer.  We’d be much better off uniting with immigrants, teaching them their rights, and working together to defend the constitution for us all.  The government won’t do it, it’s the people’s job to fulfill the founding fathers’ vision that the constitution was made for the rights of man over the whole earth.

So let me get straight to the point.

These critics have said they want HB136 to pass because it’s the “right thing”. And perhaps many of our long-time supporters don’t see the problem despite the basic liberty arguments I presented.

You see, the trick with government today is that you can almost never take things at face value.  So let me pull back the curtain. With enough effort (it’s a full time job), you often find a dozen layers and side angles behind a bill with many intended and some unintended consequences. When I see the layers behind a bill (such as Digital ID advancing) I try to offer my public service to warn that something is bad and should be stopped.  Anyone can obtain this skill by simply studying government behavior long enough. We humbly share and recommend going through our many liberty resources or attending our constitution bootcamp each month or reading through all of the 511 articles written on this website since 2013 specifically following Utah corruption and liberty.

Back in 2001 the Utah legislature authorized non-US citizens to become police officers (Call to Action: Legislature Voted to Allow Non Citizens to be Police – Defending Utah).  One of the most egregious notions I can think of for any country is to allow somebody that’s not even from there to have the authority of the force of law, at the point of a gun, to restrict the rights of the citizens who live there.  We have a hard enough time getting our own people to know what our rights are… I’d guess the political elite are betting on a near zero chance that a non-US citizen is going to study on their own what a republic is, why a constitution matters to their job and to ultimately know what your rights are thus having the knowledge and desire to disobey an unconstitutional order.  The founding fathers are rolling over in their graves.

Since this horrendous law was authorized there’s pretty much no power you can grant to the police force and call it justified until that is repealed. Because all non-US citizens with simply a work visa get to partake of the same powers. Talk about a trojan horse.  See the current law in all its horror in the code still today: Utah Code Section 53-6-203.

So while angry “conservatives” are telling me the 2026 proposed law HB136 is about taking cars from immigrants who should not drive, the joke is on you (Utah’s political establishment is well seasoned in these kinds of jokes on all of us) because … Non-citizen immigrants can now be cops in Utah, and those people are about to be granted the power to take away cars from Utahns.

Unless you make your voice known and light up your lawmakers’ phones and inboxes.  Then maybe we can prevent it.

Insider establishment Gadianton media KSL is promoting attention on HB136 in their article Bill that would require law enforcement to impound vehicles of unlicensed drivers passes House 

H.B. 136 Unlicensed Driver Amendments, sponsored by Rep. Matt MacPherson (R-Salt Lake County) and Sen. Daniel McCay (R-Salt Lake, Utah Counties), would require law enforcement to impound a vehicle during a traffic stop if the driver does not have a driver’s license, driving privilege card, or learner’s permit.

– Initially, many who lawfully travel without having volunteered their rights away in a driver’s license will be at greater risk of harassment from uneducated police officers.

– More important, this is tightening the ropes around the people in preparation for Digital ID.  The more situations that demand an ID with harsh and inappropriate consequences, the more our lives our prepped to fall apart without submitting to the upcoming Digital ID. Because we have certain fake conservative representatives pushing for this, we need to push back wherever we can.

Tell your representative that HB136 is pushing government authority too far and that it is unacceptable. Protect the right to travel and fight against Digital ID. Giving the police more power to simply take our property is nothing but empowering organized crime under the color of law.

But let’s briefly think about the background context of this.

We have always seen in our investigative reports over the years, both published and unpublished on Utah cases, that the government is always the mechanism for child trafficking as opposed to secret and private criminal networks. The government sponsors child trafficking as a very lucrative industry for the wicked.

Criminals don’t need to be private or secret when they literally control the government already.

Recently, I had somebody tell me they heard their sheriff tell them – that some minority religion in their area was involved in child human trafficking.

There is wisdom in questioning rumors that have no evidence. Especially ones that cater to emotionally triggered prejudice. The way a story is told is often a red flag.

The wicked seek to cover their own sins by turning the attention to anybody that is popular to hate, such as minority religious groups where it’s popular to shame them.  This is an old soviet tactic that was taught very well in the documentary “Beneath Sheep’s Clothing“.

The truth is that both human and child trafficking happens in America with the protection of all levels of government, including sometimes sheriffs. And none of them do anything meaningful about it – in fact they overwhelmingly protect it.  Globally, this pattern is the same.  United Nations NGOs cover and protect all human trafficking in the world.

Romans chapter 2 calls out and condemns this very thing:

1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

From time to time over the past few decades, a state rep has been known to stand up to this machine, with deadly results.

Nancy Schaefer (State senator of Georgia) published a report on 11/16/2017 titled “The Corrupt Business of Child Protective Services” which ultimately resulted in the mysterious alleged “murder suicide” of her and her husband.

Linda Collins-Smith (State senator of Arkansas) was investigating the link between CPS and child trafficking and she also ended up the victim of a homicide.

Famous Hollywood actors, mainstream films and dirty politicians like to pretend they’re on a crusade to stop human trafficking…  But these are all emotionally driven distractions that amount to the system covering up its own sins.

It’s wonderful to see real people make real documentaries to bring this evil to greater light. We’re happy to share and support this new documentary that everyone in America must see.

But before watching this, let’s get the foundation straight.

As Christians, we love the ancient House of Israel, but we don’t always remember why.

Latter-day Saints have specifically been taught on this subject by older church leaders as outlined in “Should Latter-day Saints Support the Modern State of Israel?”

Modern Jews and Muslims also love the ancient House of Israel.  This story is so big and has become so polluted over time. From not only modern propaganda, but also middle-ages and ancient propaganda, that it takes a lot of work for any of us today to simplify what it’s all about.

Briefly, this all goes back to the ancient patriarch Abraham.

Abraham’s grandson was named Jacob, later changed to Israel.  Israel and his four wives had children and therefore they created the family known as the “House of Israel” (literally his house = his family). They were born under the promise given to grandpa Abraham to bless the whole earth.  Was this promise a declaration of blood-based superiority? Absolutely not.

Simply put (without getting into it) the blessing is actually a calling that they have a job to do, not a right to rule or control others in any way.  They were given insight into how to establish freedom in the world and God expects them to do some real work if they want to “bless the whole earth” (Genesis 12:3).  The blessing comes by his descendants learning to live right, establishing justice in the countries they either live in or create themselves. They live up to the claim of becoming “God’s people” by their actions. Anybody who learns and does the correct actions is naturally adopted into the same promise.  Nobody has a monopoly on establishing freedom in the world. God wants everyone to be free and He’s grateful to anybody that actually does the work to advance that cause.

Israel is as Israel does.

Anybody can call themselves Israel (and many do), but only those who choose to live according to Israel’s calling and most importantly “proclaim liberty throughout the land” (Leviticus 25:10) actually are “God’s people”.  It’s a matter of action, not a matter of genetic superiority.

All modern versions of any Abrahamic religion have the essence of this calling built in.  In the US we inherited this Abrahamic principle by establishing a Constitution that limits the power of kings or presidents, demanding they honor the people’s liberty.  Any version of a free nation that claims to be in the shadow of the House of Israel must first have some sort of Constitutional framework that limits the power of the rulers in pursuance of the people’s liberty.  Ancient Israel was commanded to have their kings be servants that are subject to the law, where the kings must read that law all the days of their lives so they never forget it, which is a constitution in modern terms (Deuteronomy 17:18-19). If the nation doesn’t even have a constitution, then they haven’t even stepped their foot in the door of “doing” as Israel does. Such a nation can only be a fraudulent Israel. After the modern state of Israel was created they promised to create a constitution but conveniently they never did it, despite having promised they would create it within four months and despite the United Nations resolution requiring them to write one.  Thus the people of Israel are not actually free as they have no promise of any limitations on the power of their rulers.

Jesus Himself identified to John the Revelator twice (Rev 3:9 and Rev 2:9) that there are those who pretend to take upon themselves the name of the House of Israel dishonestly.

It only historically and spiritually makes sense that the best way for the devil to thwart the work of freedom as a spiritual calling to the world, would be to hijack the name that God used to try to get it going in the world, and thus destroy the promises and the calling.

So, what happened to the Christians in Palestine?  Since 1948, the UN-created government of modern Israel has been deleting them and their history from the Holy Land.  The full story is in this film.
